Open Position: Senior Associate - Commercial

Hamilton Hotel Partners, a Pyramid Hotel Group company, is a leading international hotel advisory firm specialising in asset management, hotel management, acquisition and development support. The company is currently looking for a Senior Associate to take on commercial responsibilities. The successful candidate will join an experienced team of hospitality and investment professionals based in our London head office. However, regular travel to Belgium and other locations will be required.

The Senior Associate will be responsible for overseeing the commercial strategy across several projects. This role will initially focus on a multi-branded portfolio of 8 hotels in Belgium.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop and challenge the local above-property team (corporate director of sales and marketing, corporate director of revenue management) and hotel managers, in order to establish a commercial strategy maximising total revenue and profit performance as well as market share penetration of the hotels. The role ensures that commercial management strategies are set for all revenue streams and that all systems are used to their full potential.

The Senior Associate will also be responsible for delivering accurate and insightful reporting to ownership, as well as informing decisions on commercial CAPEX investment. Responsibilities will include:

  • Challenging the commercial activities of the hotels in order to drive revenues and achieve total Revenue Budget with a control on cost of sale, route to market, channel shift and marketing / Ecommerce opportunities. 

  • Working with the above-property teams and GMs to ensure profits are maximized in line with GOP and NOI targets.

  • Supporting the Revenue Management team to establish an optimal mix, reviewing and validating forecasts, developing strategies for different demand periods, and reviewing retail and group pricing strategies. Keeping updated with the market trends and suggest strategy reviews based on market conditions.

  • Providing support to establish long-term strategy and develop pricing strategies for groups and catering.

  • Supporting hotel and above-property teams in coordinating hotel level marketing, sales and public relations activities.

  • Establishing performance targets and annual Budgets.

  • Liaising with brand teams to provide maximum support and ensuring hotel compliance to brand requirements. 

  • Working closely with company Director, presenting commercial strategies and results to ownership and key stakeholders. 

The Senior Associate will, in time, be required to provide commercial insights in other Hamilton projects, which may range between Asset Management, Hotel management, Acquisition and Development support, strategic planning and portfolio reviews.

To successfully fill this role, you should be able to demonstrate:

  • Minimum of 5+ year’s hospitality experience in a revenue generating or commercial services role. 

  • Experience in a multi-property commercial role, driving strategies across varied markets and properties.

  • Ability to analyse commercial and financial data to make strategic/tactical decisions. 

  • Experience in presenting to senior executives and ownership representation.

  • Strong verbal and written skills with fluency in English.

  • Knowledge of industry systems including PMS, POS, Revenue management systems and sales/catering systems.

  • High proficiency in MS Excel, Word and Power Point.

It would be advantageous in this position for candidates to demonstrate the following capabilities:

  • Experience in multiple disciplines with knowledge of Revenue Management, Sales, Marketing, E-commerce, and Finance. 

  • Experience in managing a team and developing talents.

Experience with leveraging brand relationships in a franchise environment.
